Nate Morris

Nathan Morris joined Cutt, Kendell & Olson as a partner in 2017. Nathan is an experienced trial attorney with a diverse personal injury practice and a background that includes both plaintiffs and defense work. During his time at CKO, Nathan has recovered over $20 million for his clients through verdicts and settlements. His practice focuses on personal injury claims arising from complex product liability, trucking collisions, dram-shop liability, insurance “bad-faith,” premises liability, and vehicle negligence cases.

Until 2015, Nathan was a defense lawyer and board member at Richards Brandt Miller Nelson for 13 years where he served as lead counsel in numerous trials including cases for complex canal flooding cases, a catastrophic oil-field injury case which was tried in Wyoming Federal Court, and a two-week medical malpractice case arising from a fatal methadone overdose. His defense experience has given him invaluable insight into the aggressive tactics often employed by insurance companies and corporate America during litigation and when evaluating your claim. This detailed understanding allows him to help navigate your case and maximize your recovery through experience possessed by few other attorneys in Utah.

Nathan received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. During his study there he was the moot court chairperson and a member of the UALR Law Review. Nathan has been recognized for his professional excellence and dedication to his clients by Mountain States Super Lawyers and has been named to the Utah Business Magazine Legal Elite. As an undergraduate at Brigham Young University, he was a captain and three-time Collegiate Club All American for the BYU Men’s Soccer team.

In addition to his litigation practice, Nathan enjoys teaching trial advocacy skills and related topics to attorneys. He has been invited to give multiple presentations, locally and nationally, including, “Premises Liability: The Defense Perspective,” and “Voir Dire and Jury Selection: Social Media and Other Complex Issues and Ethical Considerations at Trial.”

Nathan is happily married to his wife of 25 years, Kristen, who together have five wonderful children. He enjoys golf, cooking for his family, reading historical biographies, playing the guitar, and was previously an LDS Bishop.
